The Jamia Al-Hudaa operates a Parents’ Code of Conduct that aims to establish a collaborative environment between parents, carers, and the school community. Below is a detailed overview of the key components of this code, including its introduction, aims, expectations for parents/carers, and procedures for dealing with unacceptable behavior.
Introduction
1. The Jamia has implemented this Parents’ Code of Conduct, which all parties agree to upon enrollment.
2. At Jamia Al-Hudaa, we believe that educating children is a collaborative process involving parents/carers, class teachers, and the broader school community.
3. This partnership is essential for equipping children with the necessary skills for adulthood.
4. Parents/carers indicate their agreement to adhere to this Code of Conduct by signing the Home-Jamia Agreement or accepting a place for their child at Jamia.
Aims of the Code of Conduct
5. To clearly communicate expectations regarding parental conduct.
6. To outline actions that Jamia will take if conduct does not meet these expectations.
7. To support the mission, values, and vision of Jamia Al-Hudaa and its educational establishments.
Expectations of Parents/Carers
8. In addition to following the guidance in any Home-Jamia Agreement or Parents Handbook, we encourage parents/carers to:
- Embrace the ethos of respect by treating others as they wish to be treated.
- Approach the Jamia to clarify and resolve any concerns regarding their child; the first point of contact should typically be the child’s teacher.
- Understand that collaboration between teachers and parents/carers is vital for the benefit of their children.
- Set a positive example in their speech and behavior towards all members of the school community.
- Follow the Complaints Policy if they wish to raise a complaint against the Jamia.
- Ensure that anyone dropping off or collecting their children is aware of this Code of Conduct.
9. To maintain a peaceful and safe environment at Jamia, we cannot tolerate:
- Use of offensive language or displays of temper on school premises or during phone calls.
- Disparaging comments about staff members.
- Defamatory remarks on social media regarding Jamia or its members.
- Abusive or threatening messages via email, text, or voicemail.
- Disruptive behavior that interferes with school operations.
- Threats of harm towards any member of the school community.
- Approaching another child to chastise them for their actions towards one's own child.
- Physical aggression towards adults or children on school grounds.
- Harassment or vexatious behavior that humiliates individuals and harms their self-esteem.
- Damage to school property.
- Bringing dogs (except assistance dogs) onto school grounds.
Dealing with Unacceptable Behavior
10. If unacceptable behavior occurs, the school may take several actions:
- Issue a written warning regarding observed unacceptable behavior.
- Invite the parent/carer to a meeting to discuss the incidents.
- Impose conditions on future contact with school staff.
- Ban the offending parent/carer from entering school grounds.
- Reconsider subsidizing parental contributions through Madni Trust.
- Contact law enforcement if necessary.
- Pursue legal action in certain circumstances.
11. Jamia Al-Hudaa will support staff, pupils, parents/carers, and governors affected by incidents of unacceptable behavior.
12. Any complaints arising from incidents of unacceptable behavior will be addressed under Jamia Al-Hudaa’s Complaints Policy.
13. The Principal will consult with Madni Trust and Corporate Services for guidance before taking further action.
This comprehensive framework ensures that all parties involved in the educational process understand their roles and responsibilities while fostering a respectful and collaborative environment at Jamia Al-Hudaa.
