National Curriculum
National Curriculum Overview
Our integrated educational model combines National Curriculum Subjects and Comprehensive Islamic Sciences. This facilitates our student to progress from Year 7 onto the sixth form provisions to complete the GCSE and Aalima studies.
Here is a concise summary of the subject areas and GCSE courses offered at our Jamia.
National Curriculum Overview
English Language & Literature
Our curriculum is designed to equip students with comprehensive English language skills essential for academic and future professional success.
Students in our Jamia follow the AQA 9-1 GCSE English curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, preparing for two distinct examinations in English Language and English Literature.
Science (Trilogy)
Science education at our Jamia follows the AQA Combined Science: Trilogy curriculum, which provides students with a comprehensive understanding of scientific disciplines. The course covers Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, offering students a robust scientific foundation
Religious Studies
At our Jamia, Religious Studies is a key component of the GCSE curriculum, following the AQA specification. The course provides students with a comprehensive exploration of religious beliefs, practices, and contemporary ethical themes.
The curriculum challenges students to engage with complex religious concepts, develop analytical thinking, and gain insights into how religious beliefs shape cultural understanding.
Modern Foreign Languages – Arabic
At Jamia, Arabic Language education is comprehensive and strategically aligned with the Edexcel GCSE curriculum. The program focuses on developing students' linguistic skills across four key areas: Speaking, Listening, Writing, and Reading.
Our Arabic curriculum is designed to prepare our students for GCSE examinations, emphasizing both linguistic proficiency and cultural understanding.
Maths
Our students follow a comprehensive mathematics curriculum spanning Key Stages 3 and 4, culminating in the Edexcel 9-1 GCSE examination. The program is designed to build progressive mathematical skills and understanding.
History
At Jamia, our GCSE History curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of significant historical periods and develop critical analytical skills. Students begin studying History from Year 9, following the modern 9-1 GCSE format that supports the English Baccalaureate Award.
English Baccalaureate (EBacc)
In our Jamia we track students' academic performance across core subjects at Key Stage using the English Baccalaureate (EBacc), which serves as a key indicator of achievement.
Our goal is to ensure that, students build a solid academic foundation that can enhance their future educational and career prospects.
